Glass Art in Tegueste

 

Manfred Scholz Rittermann was born and bred in Lima – Perú, in a family of english and german origin. After furthering his studies in England he settled on Tenerife where he expresses his art in the crafting of stained glass in his Glass Studio with the name “Artisglas” in the northern town of Tegueste.

In his workshop he creates windows and glass objects in both Tiffany and Fusing techniques. The designs are all original and customized to the individual needs, be it for apartments, houses, larger villas or even Churches, County Councils and other larger buildings.

The workshop entails all the necessary equipment for the professional carrying out of glass projects for doors, windows, cabinets, shower doors, and for the making of an array of decorative glass items ranging from lamps, wall lamps, plates of all sizes, to ashtrays and other smaller objects. There are glass fusing ovens, large work top surfaces, tools and machinery, and a large stock of stained glass sheets.

There are around 400 different references of glass in stock, all of which are hand made and imported from the USA and Europe.  

You may visit the Glass Studio on Fridays from 10:00 through 18:00 and on Saturdays till 14:00 also on other weekdays by previous appointment calling his mobile: 647 820 344.

To get there you take the road from La Laguna, or the Northern Motorway to the Vïa Ronda, through Las Canteras and down to the town of Tegueste. You pass the main entrance to Tegueste, 200 meters further down take the next street, calle Calvo Sotelo in a sharp right turn, where you will see a farmacy on the corner opposite the Fire Dept.. 50 meters further on the left you will see the Studio with a sign “Artisglas”.
